Houston Society for Engineering in Medicine and Biology

21st Annual Houston Conference on Biomedical Engineering Research

Information on Meeting Sponsorship

The Houston Society for Engineering in Medicine and Biology will hold its 21st Annual Meeting on February 12-13, 2004 at the University of Houston Hilton Hotel Conference Center.  Engineers, scientists, clinicians and medical researchers attend this multi-disciplinary meeting. They come from Galveston, College Station, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and New Orleans, as well as the local Houston area.

Corporate sponsorship of the meeting is critical to its success as a forum for the exchange of information among researchers, clinicians, and industry.  An important goal for the meeting is to keep the cost of attendance for students low so that as many as possible can benefit from the meeting.  In the past, many contributors have made unrestricted gifts to the meeting while others have sponsored a specific speaker, session or function at the meeting.  The table below lists opportunities for giving which will receive special recognition during the event or in appropriate program materials.

We welcome unrestricted contributions in any amount. These are used for the miscellaneous expenses of the meeting such as meeting room rental, registration staff, and especially underwriting student attendance.  We will work with a potential sponsor that wishes to support a specific speaker or session, or to contribute in-kind, such as equipment loan.

The Society expresses its gratitude in a number of forms before, during, and after the meeting. We acknowledge all sponsors in the Society’s World Wide Web pages and emphasize our sustaining sponsors, which have supported the meeting for three or more years. During the meeting, the sponsors' names are displayed on posters in the hallways and on transparencies projected during seating for the luncheons.  All sponsors are thanked in the program booklet.

The Houston Society for Engineering in Medicine and Biology is a Chapter 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization.  We ask that contributions be made payable to "HSEMB" or to the Society's full name. For more information, contact Michael McGee at 832-355-3400 or mmcgee@heart.thi.tmc.edu.
